The Agilent/HP 8164A mainframe has been discontinued for a long time and replaced by the 8164B now sold with Keysight logo. Still, the older 8164A can host most the modules on the market as long as loaded with the latest firmware. We are familiar with most known issues on the 8164A being display, GPIB, power supplies or backplane pins. If your motherboard is fried, you might then be best to consider replacing it.
