Burleigh WA-7600 Multi Wavelength Meter Calibration and Repair Services
Simbol Test Systems provides professional in-lab Burleigh WA-7600 Multi Wavelength Meter calibration and repair services to help maintain accurate, reliable performance for your test and measurement equipment. All calibration services are performed in our laboratory using documented procedures, traceable standards, and experienced technical staff.
Our service process is designed to evaluate instrument condition, verify measurement performance, and determine whether calibration, repair, or both are appropriate. If needed, we can provide a repair quotation for approval before proceeding with additional service.
Following calibration, your equipment may be returned with a calibration label, calibration certificate, and related calibration data. If the unit does not successfully complete calibration, we can evaluate the repair requirements and provide a repair quotation for approval before proceeding.
Traceability: Instrumentation used during this calibration is traceable to N.I.S.T. (National Institute of Standards and Technology) or C.N.R.C. (Canadian National Research Council).

Burleigh WA-7600 Multi Wavelength Meter Calibration and Repair Services
The Burleigh WA‑7600 multi‑wavelength meter is part of the legacy Burleigh product line acquired by EXFO in 2000. EXFO continued producing these instruments for several years under both the Burleigh name and their own grey‑label branding. Eventually, the entire wavelength meter line was discontinued, and as of today, no new EXFO wavemeter series has been introduced.
Simbol has collaborated with EXFO for many years to ensure ongoing support for both Burleigh‑branded and EXFO‑branded wavelength meters. With more than two decades of experience, our technicians continue to provide complete calibration and repair services for the WA‑7600, WA‑1600, and WA‑1650 families.
Stabilized HeNe Laser Replacement for WA‑7600 Multi Wavelength Meters
The WA‑7600, like the WA‑1600 and WA‑1650 models, uses a stabilized Helium‑Neon (HeNe) laser as its internal wavelength reference. The original Melles‑Griot stabilized HeNe tubes (model MG 05‑STP‑910‑462) have been discontinued for many years, creating global shortages and making repairs increasingly challenging.
To maintain long‑term serviceability, Simbol engineered a custom stabilized HeNe laser assembly that is fully compatible with the original Burleigh design. We source the laser tube from a specialized manufacturer and integrate our in‑house stabilization electronics. This proven design has been deployed for many years and is also available for purchase through our PhotonCom division:

Repair Limitations for Aging Burleigh Instruments
The Burleigh wavelength meter family has been out of production for more than 20 years. While Simbol maintains strong repair success rates, certain limitations apply due to the age of the electronics:
- Cleaning and alignment of internal optics
- Replacement of the stabilized HeNe laser
- Adjustment of optical paths and reference components
However, if the motherboard or other electronic circuits are damaged beyond repair, the unit may not be recoverable. In such cases, we recommend contacting AssetRelay for replacement instruments:

Service Availability
Simbol continues to support the WA‑7600 as long as replacement parts remain available. Due to the age of these instruments, repair feasibility is evaluated on a case‑by‑case basis during the initial diagnostic.
