The VIAVI SmartOTDR Series is an affordable, compact handheld OTDR platform designed for installation, testing, and troubleshooting of metro and access fiber networks.
The VIAVI SmartOTDR Series integrates essential single-mode fiber test functions into a light, field-ready platform with automated one-touch operation. Depending on configuration, the platform may support OTDR measurements, objective pass/fail analysis, Smart Link Mapper (SLM) icon-based trace interpretation, optical loss testing with a Continuous Wave (CW) light source, built-in optical power meter (OPM) options, and an optional visual fault locator (VFL).
The SmartOTDR platform is also compatible with digital fiber inspection tools for connector end-face cleanliness analysis, helping technicians validate fiber links, identify faults, and document network condition more efficiently. If your unit shows measurement drift, unstable trace performance, reduced dynamic range, connector wear, OPM or VFL issues, display or interface faults, or other operating problems, we can review the failure condition and provide service recommendations based on the specific configuration.
Following calibration, your equipment may be returned with a calibration label, calibration certificate, and related calibration data. If the unit does not successfully complete calibration, we can evaluate the repair requirements and provide a repair quotation for approval before proceeding.
