Fujikura ELCT2-16B Fusion Splicer Replacement Electrodes are supplied as a matched pair for compatible Fujikura field and ribbon fusion splicers, including selected 31S, 41S, 45S, 90S, and 90R Series models. Correct installation, electrode stabilization, and arc calibration help maintain stable arc discharge and consistent fiber heating. Available from Simbol Test Systems, an authorized Canadian distributor and service center for AFL and Fujikura products.
Fujikura ELCT2-16B Fusion Splicer Replacement Electrodes are consumable replacement components for compatible Fujikura field and ribbon fusion splicers. Supplied as a matched pair, the electrodes generate the controlled electrical arc used to heat and fuse prepared optical fiber end-faces.
Repeated fusion cycles gradually wear the electrode tips and may allow deposits to accumulate in the fusion chamber. Worn, contaminated, damaged, or incorrectly installed electrodes can affect arc stability, arc calibration, fiber heating, estimated splice loss, and overall splice consistency.
The ELCT2-16B electrode pair is commonly specified for selected Fujikura 31S, 41S, 45S, 90S, and 90R Series fusion splicers. Compatibility should always be verified using the complete splicer model and the marking on the existing electrodes before ordering.
The Fujikura ELCT2-16B electrode pair is commonly specified for selected models in the following fusion splicer families:
This compatibility list is a selection guide. Confirm the complete splicer model, equipment generation, and existing electrode marking before installing replacement electrodes.
The ELCT2-16B is a later electrode model used with selected Fujikura 31S, 41S, 45S, 88 Series, and 90 Series fusion splicers.
The earlier ELCT2-16, without the B suffix, is associated with selected legacy FSM-16 and FSM-30 Series fusion splicers. These electrode models should not be treated as interchangeable.
Always include the complete suffix when ordering. The correct product designation for this page is ELCT2-16B.
Fusion splicer electrodes operate under repeated high-voltage arc discharges. Each splice contributes to gradual electrode-tip wear. Fiber type, splice mode, arc power, electrode spacing, environmental conditions, and fusion-chamber cleanliness can affect electrode performance and service life.
Worn or contaminated electrodes may contribute to unstable arc discharge, unsuccessful arc calibration, inconsistent fiber heating, unusual splice appearance, recurring fusion errors, or changes in estimated splice loss.
The fusion splicer’s electrode counter provides useful maintenance guidance, but splice count should not be the only consideration. Physical electrode condition, arc-calibration results, fusion performance, and the applicable Fujikura maintenance instructions should also be reviewed.
Turn off the fusion splicer before removing or installing electrodes. Follow the applicable Fujikura operating and maintenance instructions, and avoid touching the pointed electrode tips with fingers or tools.
Replace both electrodes together as a matched pair. Combining one new electrode with one worn electrode may create uneven arc geometry and inconsistent fiber heating. Confirm that both electrodes are correctly seated and secured before operating the fusion splicer.
After installation, complete the electrode stabilization and arc-calibration procedures specified for the splicer. Use clean, correctly stripped and cleaved fibers during calibration.
Electrode replacement is also an appropriate time to inspect and clean the V-grooves, fiber clamps, mirrors, objective lenses, wind protector, electrode holders, and surrounding fusion chamber.
Simbol Test Systems supplies Fujikura fusion splicers, replacement electrodes, V-grooves, fiber holders, cleavers, thermal strippers, batteries, power supplies, cleaning products, and related maintenance parts. As an authorized Canadian distributor and service center for AFL and Fujikura products, we support customers with product selection, repair, maintenance, and technical service.
Electrode compatibility should always be confirmed using the complete fusion splicer model and existing electrode marking. Simbol Test Systems can help identify the correct replacement pair and provide professional in-lab cleaning, electrode installation, arc calibration, maintenance, and repair service.

Select ELCT2-16B only when this complete electrode designation is specified for the fusion splicer. Do not substitute the earlier ELCT2-16 electrode model.
For Fujikura 100S and 100R fusion splicers, ELCT2-16C electrodes are generally required instead. For older FSM-50, FSM-60, FSM-70, and FSM-80 Series models, ELCT2-20A electrodes may be required.
Contact Simbol Test Systems with the complete Fujikura fusion splicer model, existing electrode marking, splice count, and a brief description of any operating issue to request ELCT2-16B availability, compatibility assistance, electrode replacement, cleaning, arc calibration, maintenance, repair, or technical support.
