Our Calibration Services
Simbol provides high-quality calibration services for several categories of fiber optic instruments. All calibrations are performed in our laboratory. Many supported models and calibration categories are listed on our website, but if your model or category is not shown, please contact us to confirm availability.
Depending on the type of calibration selected, your equipment may be returned with a calibration label, calibration certificate, and related calibration data. If a unit does not successfully complete calibration, we can evaluate the repair cost and provide a quotation. Upon approval, we can perform the necessary repairs and return the unit in proper working condition.
Superior Fiber Optic Calibration Services
Our calibration services are built on proven procedures maintained under our quality system. As an independent laboratory, many of our procedures have been developed in-house with the objective of ensuring that instruments are calibrated in accordance with generally available manufacturer specifications as well as our own internal technical procedures.
In many instances, our procedures go beyond standard manufacturer calibration methods. For example, some wavelength meter manufacturers may issue calibration certificates based on a single wavelength verification. Our procedures are designed to verify multiple values across the specified range whenever appropriate.
Depending on the instrument type, we may measure and calibrate at several wavelengths, confirm power specifications, and evaluate additional performance characteristics such as linearity, stability, and ripple.
Our objective is not only to confirm whether an instrument meets specification, but, where appropriate and practical, to realign the equipment to bring performance closer to the center of specification rather than simply within tolerance.

This calibration is performed to verify the functionality of the equipment and confirm that key features meet the manufacturer’s published specifications, wherever possible, at the tested points. Key features are the most critical performance parameters of an instrument.

Premium Calibration
Premium Calibration is performed using manufacturer performance test procedures where available and is intended to confirm that the equipment meets or exceeds published specifications.
Because of our extensive repair and calibration experience in fiber optics, our procedures often go beyond standard manufacturer checks by including additional tests we consider important for real-world instrument performance.

Functional Test Certificate
This certificate is provided to confirm that the equipment was tested using Simbol’s quality procedures and that, at the time of testing, the instrument complied with the applicable functional performance criteria.
