Request a Test Equipment Repair Evaluation
Simbol Test Systems Inc. provides professional in-lab repair and technical evaluation services for optical, fiber optic, telecommunications and electronic test equipment, including selected RF, microwave and photonics instruments. Submit your repair request below, and our team will review the equipment details and provide the next steps.
Professional Test Equipment Repair Evaluation
Simbol Test Systems provides professional evaluation, troubleshooting and repair services for a broad range of test and measurement instruments. We support customers working in telecommunications, fiber optics, photonics, electronics, manufacturing, research, education and laboratory environments.
If your instrument does not power on, produces unstable measurements, displays an error, fails a self-test or no longer operates as expected, we can review the failure condition and determine whether repair is technically and economically practical.
Depending on the equipment and reported problem, the evaluation may include visual inspection, functional testing, troubleshooting, connector inspection, power-supply testing, communication checks and evaluation of applicable measurement functions.
Send us the manufacturer, complete model number and a description of the problem. We can evaluate the instrument and help determine a practical next step.
Equipment We Commonly Evaluate and Repair
Simbol Test Systems evaluates and repairs many categories of optical, fiber optic, telecommunications and electronic test equipment, including selected RF, microwave and photonics instruments.
Fiber Optic and Optical Equipment
|
Electronic and Telecommunications Equipment
|
This list is not exhaustive. Please provide the complete manufacturer, model number and failure description so that our repair capabilities can be reviewed.
Test Equipment Brands We Service
Simbol Test Systems evaluates, troubleshoots and repairs test and measurement equipment from many established optical, fiber optic, telecommunications, electronic and photonics manufacturers.
Our service experience includes current, discontinued and legacy equipment represented on the Simbol Test Systems and AssetRelay websites. Common manufacturers and equipment brands include:
|
|
Inclusion of a manufacturer does not mean that every instrument, module or failure can be repaired. Repair availability depends on the model, condition, reported failure, available technical information and availability of suitable replacement parts.
Common Test Equipment Problems
Repair requirements vary according to the equipment design and failure condition. Common problems submitted for evaluation include:
|
|
Not every issue applies to every instrument. Diagnostic work is based on the equipment design, reported symptoms, observed operating condition and available technical information.
Evaluation and Repair Process
1. Submit Your Repair Request
Complete the form below with the manufacturer, model number, installed options and a detailed description of the problem.
2. Equipment Evaluation
After the equipment arrives, we evaluate the reported failure and determine whether repair is technically and economically practical.
3. Diagnostic Findings and Repair Quotation
After evaluation, we can provide diagnostic findings and a repair quotation for approval before proceeding with additional work.
4. Repair and Post-Repair Testing
Approved repairs are completed when technically practical. The equipment then undergoes applicable functional and performance testing before it is returned.
No additional repair work will be performed until the repair quotation has been approved. Evaluation fees, repair costs and available service options are communicated as part of the service process.
Functional Testing After Repair
Following repair, the equipment undergoes applicable functional and performance testing. The exact testing process depends on the instrument category, available functions and repair performed.
Testing may include startup verification, control and interface checks, communication testing, optical input or output verification, module recognition checks and evaluation of applicable measurement functions.
Our objective is to verify the repaired functions and evaluate the instrument’s operating condition before it is returned.
Documented and Traceable Calibration
When calibration is requested, technically applicable and supported, instrumentation used during calibration is traceable to N.I.S.T. (National Institute of Standards and Technology) or C.N.R.C. (National Research Council Canada), where applicable.
Following successful calibration, equipment may be returned with a calibration label, calibration certificate and related calibration data. Available documentation depends on the equipment, calibration scope and selected service.
Calibration documentation may identify the instrument, manufacturer, model number, serial number, calibration date, service performed and applicable measurement results.
Include your calibration, measurement and documentation requirements when submitting the repair request. Calibration availability depends on the instrument, supported functions and requested service scope.
Repair or Replace?
Simbol Test Systems can help you determine whether repair or replacement is the more practical option. Repair feasibility may depend on the failure condition, equipment age, replacement-part availability and estimated repair cost.
If you decide not to proceed with the repair following evaluation, the evaluation fee may be eligible for credit toward the purchase of the same model or a suitable alternative from available AssetRelay inventory, subject to the terms of the quotation.
In some cases, AssetRelay may also consider purchasing defective or surplus equipment. Purchase options depend on the manufacturer, model, configuration, condition and current inventory requirements.
