The Fujikura CT16 Fiber Cleaver is a compact optical fiber preparation tool designed for FTTH, FTTx, small-cell, MDF/IDF, rural deployment, and network restoration applications. It supports single-mode and multimode optical fibers with approximately 125 µm cladding and can cleave one or two individual bare fibers when configured with the supplied AD-16A dual-fiber adapter.
The CT16 combines simple one-step operation with a compact, shock-resistant design. Its top lever opens beyond the vertical position to provide easier access for viewing, cleaning, and cleave-length adjustment. When the lever is opened, the blade retracts. Closing the lever activates the blade to score and cleave the fiber in a single operating step.
The fiber adapter and scrap collector can be installed on either side of the cleaver. This reversible design supports left- or right-handed operation and allows technicians to adapt the working arrangement to confined spaces or specific installation conditions.

Dual-Fiber Preparation with the SS-05 Stripper
The CT16 is designed to support simultaneous preparation of two fibers when paired with the compatible Fujikura SS-05 Dual Fiber Stripper. This workflow can help reduce preparation time for splice-on-connector termination and other applications that require two fibers to be stripped and cleaved together.
With the AD-16A adapter, the cleaver can accommodate one fiber with a coating diameter up to 900 µm or two fibers with 250 µm coatings. The AD-16B adapter expands the supported cable size to a maximum jacket diameter of 3 mm for compatible single-fiber applications.
The required cleave length depends on the selected adapter and fiber coating diameter. The AD-16A provides a range of 5 to 20 mm under supported conditions. The AD-16B provides a range of 5 to 20 mm for coatings up to 250 µm, 10 to 20 mm for coatings from 251 to 900 µm, and 14 to 20 mm for jacket diameters from 901 µm to 3 mm.
Durable and Field-Serviceable Design
The Fujikura CT16 is designed for regular field use and simplified maintenance. The CB-09 cleaver blade provides an estimated service life of approximately 48,000 fiber cleaves, although actual blade life varies according to fiber type, environmental conditions, cleanliness, and operating method.
